Help Ensure Post-Roe Abortion Access

light red banner: help us protect abortion access

Today, we will be in DC as the Supreme Court starts hearing arguments for a 15 week abortion ban in Mississippi that threatens to remove the few abortion rights protections our country has had since Roe v Wade. Taking this case in the first place was a sign the majority of the Supreme Court is no longer honoring legal precedent for abortion rights.

While you may already know to tune into the arguments, we think it’s best to hear from the reproductive justice groups on the ground. MAC is here to recommend some essential content.

  • Please watch this video by the Mississippi Abortion Freedom Fighters: Mississippians are capable of making the best decisions for themselves and their families. We do not need government interference in our reproductive lives.

  • If you have a little more time, watch the amazing speeches from the Center For Reproductive Rights Rally from the front steps of SCOTUS. Listen to Cherisse Scott, CEO & founder of SisterReach in Memphis, TN move us beyond abortion to abundance. Let Renee Bracy Sherman, founder & director of WeTestify, fire you up with pro-abortion, pro-sex, calls to liberate abortion.

As you know, SCOTUS has also allowed Texas to ban abortion since September by doing nothing about SB8, a law that circumvents constitutionally protected abortion rights. What does this all mean for abortion seekers?

It means our highest court will allow states to halt abortion care through bad faith, questionable-at-best legal maneuvering, or through outright bans - ignoring legal precedent, medical evidence, and the right to reproductive autonomy. It also means that privacy rights, sexual rights, and queer rights to full equality are on the line.

Donate now to protect abortion access.

While we fight to get back our reproductive rights, there are practical support organizations like MAC that have spent years focused on building the survival networks necessary for true access. When Texans could no longer get abortion care in their home state, Kansas became one of the main destinations for abortion care. MAC worked with the Brigid Alliance, Fund Texas Choice, Clinic Access Support Network, and The Bridge Collective to support people needing to travel hundreds of miles for essential care. The map above is a best case scenario if Roe falls. Kansas needs support defeating a vote to change their constitution to remove the current protections for abortion in the state.

Our expenses rose significantly to support long distance travel for Texans and we need to raise more money to continue working not only with Texans, but Mississippians as well as everyone in anti-choice states across the country who will be relying on us in the Midwest. Remember -- the effects of these racist abortion bans spiral out nationwide. If one of us doesn’t have access, none of us have access.
